Collecting Oral Histories by Youth!
New addition to Curriculum!
March 15, 2017 – Release date for “Collecting Oral histories by Youth!”
Step by step, lesson plan for collecting oral histories, by youth.
Our recent pilot, collecting oral histories from SC Vietnam Veterans, helped provide us with the necessary feedback to expand our present interviewing curriculum.
Our full color book contains QR codes to a film: “In their own words, Oral Histories of SC Vietnam Veterans”.
Next, included is a guideline to a process that we believe with help your students first, find their voice and gain the self confidence that is required to sit next to a veteran and handle the full interview.
The outcome is two-fold. Veterans often do not share their experiences, and this interview can be the first time. Thus, it’s a major emotional relief.
The student learns history directly from someone who served and was there. No history book, but a real time sharing.
In the process also, a student learns about the importance of our freedoms, and the sacrifices that have been made to keep our nation free.
Book/20 pages/full color/QR codes to two films: $49.99 – shipping is $5.00

Hi,
I attended your workshop at the National Guard Armory in Columbia and would love to have the link to the video to share with my students!
Thanks for all you have done!
